Faith Talk

As I am sitting here meditating on what God has promised to do in my life this thought came to mind. Doubt says “If…happens”
Faith says “When…happens”
Your Choice of Words is Key and Helps you become prepared for what God has spoken in your life. Your “If” will set you up for failure and cause you to get distracted as you will think there are other options to explore rather than waiting on what God has said. You see when God promised Abram that he would make him the father of Nations (Abraham) he has faith and knew that it was going to happen. God spoke to him in a different way to increase his faith however Sarai was not in the same boat. From what I understood at some point it became an “If…” Promise to them so she saw Hagar as another option to fulfill God’s plan. I guess it was in a way her saying “What if this is the way to what God has promised?”. And we all know it wasn’t.

Actually What Hagar gave birth to was the complete opposite of the promise. Ishmael was a Rival to the Promise, Isaac. You would think Ishmael was going to be just a regular boy just because he was not the promised child right? No. He was a Rival. Meaning he was still the son of the one God promised to make into a nation. He was still Abraham’s son. Even in Chapter 17, we see that God promised to make Ishmael a nation and to bless him. Then at the set time, Isaac came and we saw how Sarah became fearful and requested that Hagar and Ishmael be sent away. Listen, stepping out of God’s will and doubting that the promise will come at the time God has set, will create a Rival and cause you to be fearful of losing what God has assigned to be yours, to begin with.

Note To Self: Don’t ruin God’s perfect plan by lack of patience and create barriers as a result.

So Brother/Sister what is it that God has said he will do in your life? Get Ready for it by positioning yourself with praise and thanksgiving and plan accordingly because it goes beyond your desires and prayers and it is about generations to come. Avoid creating plan Bs along the way as well as focus on what God has said. God does not need our help to bring to pass what he has promised. All he requires from us is to simply have Faith in him and praise him. I truly believe A heart positioned for the promise to pass with praise is a heart that pleases God! May God help us have faith in him knowing that what he has promised will Come to Pass. May God protect us from creating Rivals of the Promise. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Grace and Peace to you and yours!
